    Description
The South Carolina Capital Access Program is designed to give financial institutions operating in South Carolina a flexible and non-bureaucratic tool to make business loans that are more risky than conventional loans and that do not meet conventional underwriting standards In this report, the Department of Commerce provides an overview of the South Carolina Capital Access Program and its results within the first year. Initial figures look positive with the program assisting 49 small businesses with private financing from South Carolina lenders totaling over $2.3 million. The program provided $108,387 into lending reserves which impacted 290 South Carolina workers. A total of $21.83 in private lending occurred for every $1 leveraged from the state program.
