Abstract
Description
What now are known as the Woodside Dams on Twelve Mile Creek are parts of a rich history in upstate South Carolina of industrial development using water power. This history reaches back to the late eighteenth century and continued well into the twentieth. Although the Woodside Dams are located in Pickens County, the bigger story of which they are part takes place across the upstate, including Pickens, Greenville, and Spartanburg Counties.
