    The Children's Law Office (later named the Children's Law Center) is operated by the University of South Carolina's School of Law in partnership with the University of South Carolina Institute for Families in Society. Its purpose is to provide useful information and training to lawyers, judges, guardians ad litem, and other participants in South Carolina judicial proceedings related to child abuse and neglect. The newsletter highlights recent cases, new and proposed legislation, new medical and social science findings related to child abuse and neglect, training opportunities, summaries of the law on specific issues, and summaries of recent articles and book reviews.
