There is substantial evidence supporting the commonly held belief that strong positive relationship exists between reading proficiency and high school graduation. the Education Oversight Committee examined the relationship between reading proficiency, as measured by the performance of students on the Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test, and four –year graduation rates. This paper gives the statistical results of that study.Collections
