Statement of Pardons
In 1887, 1913, 1930, and 1931 the governor of South Carolina published a report of all pardons, suspended sentences, commutations of sentence and reprieves granted during the year. The reports give details of race, offence, petitions to the governor, personal letters, statements from the judge, and other information surrounding the decision.
