    This is a catalog of an exhibition held at the Columbia Museums of Art and Science (December 14, 1982 -January 23, 1983. Since so much of this exhibition is built upon the actual seals of government in South Carolina's history-during the Proprietary Period (1663-1719), the Royal Period (1719-1775), the Revolutionary Period (1776-1782), the Antebellum Period (1783-1865), and from 1865 to the present this program notes something of the meaning and use of seals.
