This study was conducted for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Freshwater Fisheries Section to assist the Section in becoming more responsive to its customers. It is important for fishery managers to understand what anglers desire from their fishing experiences so as to allow the Section to pattern programs for achieving optimum resource use. The questionnaire was designed based on input provided by the Section as well as the need to compare results with the 1990 statewide angler survey. A total of 1,357 surveys were completed between August 29 and October 28, 1997.
