South Carolina's Marine Game Fish Tagging Program began in 1974. This tagging program has proven to be valuable not only for the information gathered on different species of game fish but also for promoting conservation among saltwater anglers. From 1974 through 1992, cooperating anglers tagged over 42,000 marine fishes of 96 species representing 35 families.Collections
