Description
Williamsburg County, S.C., has numerous substantial ground-water aquifers. Most are in sand-and-clay formations of Cretaceous Age, like the other counties of South Carolina’s Coastal Plain. Wells as deep as 1,200 feet provide water of suitable quality for public supply, industry, and agriculture. Many wells produce more than 200 gallons per minute; the largest yield recorded is 1,900 gallons per minute. This describes the groundwater resources of Williamsburg County.Collections
