Well Sites
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources gathers ground-water level and water-quality for water-resources assessment and management. These data are used to identify long-term changes in ground-water levels and storage; to correlate climate conditions, streamflows, and ground-water levels; and to determine relationships between saltwater intrusion and water levels or stream stage. Ground-water data are collected through a network of agency-maintained water-level and specific-conductance observation sites and through U.S. Geological Survey maintained sites that are cooperatively funded by DNR or other agencies.
