Air quality management--South Carolina; Air--Pollution--Law and legislation; South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control; United States. Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990
    Description
In South Carolina, the Department of Health and Environmental Control is the state agency charged with the development of the State Implementation Plans (SIP) to achieve the National Ambient Air Quality Standards and address air quality concerns. Because it was last amended in 1990, much of the Clean Air Act is no longer valid or relevant, especially in terms of its SIP process. This paper addresses the successes of the Clean Air Act and begins identifying improvements to the air quality management and SIP processes.
