Abstract
The mission of the Cass Elias McCarter Guardian ad Litem Program is to recruit, train and supervise a diverse pool of volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in Family Court proceedings. This project will develop objective measures in areas where a volunteer could have a meaningful impact: educational advocacy, safety, physical and mental health, and permanency. Using these measures, a process for evaluating the effectiveness of the volunteer in improving these outcomes will be developed and implemented as a pilot project.
