South Carolina College- and Career-Ready English language arts standards [revised]

Abstract
According to the South Carolina Educational Accountability Act of 1998 (S.C. Code Ann. ยง 59- 18- 110), the purpose of academic standards is to provide the basis for the development of local curricula and statewide assessments. The SC CCR ELA Standards were written in accordance with the cyclical review process as set by the South Carolina Department of Education and the Education Oversight Committee. The purpose of the standards revision process was to design college- and career-ready standards that would ensure that students who complete high school in South Carolina are ready for college, career, and community.
