Abstract
The South Carolina Code of Laws requires the Department of Health and Environmental Control to prepare a South Carolina Health Plan, with the advice of the Health Planning Committee, for use in the administration of the Certificate of Need Program. This Plan contains an inventory of existing health care facilities, beds, specified health services and equipment; projections of need for additional healthcare facilities, beds, specified health services, and equipment; standards for distribution of healthcare facilities, beds, specified health services, and equipment; and the project review criteria considered to be the most 1 important in evaluating Certificate of Need applications for each type of facility, service and equipment.
