Abstract
SCDOT has embarked on an effort to develop a Strategic Management Plan. SCDOT conducted thorough task and risk analyses which led to a set of ten department level priorities and the identification of six Critical Management Areas. The plan is based upon a detailed analysis of the Department’s statutory mission, state laws, guidance from the Governor, direction from the Transportation Commission, and requirements imposed on the state, as well as analysis of threats and risks to accomplish the mission to acceptable standards.
