Abstract
The rank of Corporal is the first rung of the supervisory ladder where officers are thrust into a new role they are often times unprepared for with added supervisory and administrative responsibilities. With no standardized curriculum to follow, Corporals across the state are not following uniform guidelines in their newly assigned roles. The purpose of gathering the data for this research was to understand how current, recently promoted and former supervisors viewed their preparedness for the responsibilities they would be charged with when promoted to Corporal.
