Increasing the Efficiency and Productivity of the State’s Groundwater Monitoring Program

Harder, Scott
South Carolina Certified Public Manager Program
Abstract
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources routinely collects ground-water level data for water-resource assessments and for management and planning purposes. Current standard operating procedures (SOPs) dictate that each well must be visited six times per year or once every two months. The purpose of this project is to investigate the potential for modifying existing SOPs by reducing the number of required site visits per year while maintaining the same level of data quality.
