Abstract
This publication is intended to inform citizens of the characteristics of low-level radioactive waste, and its management and disposal. Information concerning waste types, packaging, transportation and environmental impacts of the disposal site also are presented. A more detailed description of DHEC’s role in low-level radioactive waste (LLRW) management is presented for the purpose of further defining the state’s responsibilities.
