Abstract
This study was conducted at the request of Mr. John Templeton of Martschink Realty of Charleston, South Carolina. The study tract consists of the portion of the Secessionville peninsula north of what is known as Fort Lamar Road. The study included an intensive archaeological survey of the 11 acre tract, as well as background research which included a very brief historical examination of resources at the Charleston Register of Mesne Conveyances and the South Carolina Historical Society, examination of the site files at the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, and a request for information from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History.
