Trinkley, Michael
Chicora Foundation
Abstract
The archaeological investigations were undertaken to determine the nature and extent of the archaeological resources associated with the Palmetto Iron Works lot. The archaeological study, which included topographic mapping and shovel testing, revealed the presence of intact, well preserved archaeological remains including artifacts associated with the foundry operation, architectural features, possible dump areas, possible deeply buried features, and the location of additional structures.
