South Carolina. Archives and Records Management Division
South Carolina. Archives and Records Management Division
Abstract
Like paper or electronic records, text messages are another format in which information is captured. As a public record, agencies have to be aware of the procedures and policies when managing public records. Therefore, this leaflet will address the concept of text messages (i.e. Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and Short Message Service (SMS)) on either an office or individual device as seen as a public record.
