Abstract
The ecosystem services provided by South Carolina’s beaches and barrier islands help sustain coastal communities in the state and enable them to thrive. The evidence presented in this document suggests that beaches and barrier islands in South Carolina are conservatively worth billions of dollars per year in economic benefits.
