Abstract
Act 287 (enacted June 2014) requires that the South Carolina First Steps to School Readiness Board of Trustees develop a “comprehensive long-range initiative for improving early childhood development, increasing school readiness and literacy.” The resulting plan --Vision 2020 focuses on current needs of SC children and families, interagency coordination, and local infrastructure and assets.
