Abstract
Except as otherwise specifically provided, these regulations apply to all persons who receive, possess,
use, transfer or acquire any radioactive material; provided, however, that nothing in these regulations shall
apply to any person to the extent such person is subject to regulation by the United States Nuclear
Regulatory Commission. Nothing in Part III of these regulations shall be interpreted as limiting the
intentional exposure of patients to radiation for the purpose of diagnostic or therapy by persons licensed to
practice one or more of the health professions within the authority granted to them by statute or regulation.
These regulations shall become effective January 1, 1994.
