Abstract
This study briefly outlines the work undertaken and its contribution to helping us understand the artifact assemblages and
architectural remains associated with what might best be described as a middling plantation in an area of Beaufort County which was not known for its agricultural production. The investigation of St. Queuntens Plantation provides an important comparative
resource which will be helpful in better understanding the lifeways of the small planter.
