Abstract
This regulation outlines requirements for producers, harvesters, processors, and
transporters of shellfish and is intended to protect the health of consumers of shellfish. The requirements,
standards, and implementation methods outlined herein are consistent with the National Shellfish Sanitation
Program Guide for the Control of Molluscan Shellfish, published by the United States Department of Health
and Human Services, U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The National Shellfish Sanitation Program
Guide for the Control of Molluscan Shellfish is partially incorporated by reference within these regulations.
