Abstract
The Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act requires institutions of higher education to certify that they have adopted and implemented programs to prevent the abuse of alcohol and use or distribution of illicit drugs by students and employees both on its premises and as part of any of its activities. The law further requires that USC Upstate conduct a biennial review of its program to assess the effectiveness of its drug and alcohol abuse prevention programs, evaluate the consistency of sanctions imposed for violations of its disciplinary standards and codes of conduct related to drugs and alcohol, identify areas requiring improvement or modification, and produce a biennial report to review USC Upstateās findings. This is USC Upstateās biennial review of its drug and alcohol abuse prevention programs.
