South Carolina Department of Natural Resources
South Carolina Department of Natural Resources
Abstract
The Scenic Rivers Program, established by the South Carolina Scenic Rivers Act 1989, is designed to protect South Carolina’s unique and outstanding river resources. To accomplish this purpose, a cooperative, voluntary management program involves landowners, community interests, and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) who work in a partnership to achieve common river conservation goals. The partnership is formed through local advisory councils created for each scenic river; and for Lynches River, the Lynches River Advisory Council was created. This guide contains information about the Lynches River, including facts, history, recreation information, and maps.
