Abstract
This program describes how SCDOT, with FTA concurrence, will comply with Title VI in accordance with responsibilities as set forth by the Title VI regulations issued by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) (28 CFR Part 42) and the United States Department of Transportation. The objhectives are : to ensure that FTA-assisted benefits and related services are made available and are equitably distributed without regard to race, color, or national origin ; to ensure that the level and quality of FTA-assisted transit services are sufficient to provide equal access and mobility for any person without regard to race, color, or national origin ; to ensure that opportunities to participate in the transit planning and decision-making processes are provided to people without regard to race, color, or national origin ; to ensure that decisions on the location of transit services and facilities are made without regard to race, color, or national origin ; to ensure that all FTA recipients take corrective measures to ensure non-discriminatory treatment of any beneficiary based on race, color, or national origin.
