Abstract
This investigation was conducted by Ms. Natalie Adams of Chicora Foundation, Inc. for Mr. Roger Shedlock of the Beaufort County Recreation Commission. This study is intended to provide a detailed explanation of the archaeological survey of the Pearce property tract and the findings. The project included two person days of archival research, conducted by Ms. Mona Grunden at the Beaufort County Register of Mesne Conveyances and Dr. Michael Trinkley at the South Caroliniana Library. In addition the statewide archaeological site files held by the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology were examined for information pertinent to the project area. The field investigations were conducted on May 2, 1991 by Ms. Mona Grunden and Ms. Natalie Adams. This field work involved 16 person hours. Laboratory and report production were conducted at Chicora's laboratories in Columbia, S.C. on May 3, 1991.
