South Carolina residential construction standards
South Carolina Residential Builders Commission
South Carolina Residential Builders Commission
Abstract
While building codes are designed to address matters of health, safety, and welfare, the Performance Standards are intended to specify the minimum standards in workmanship provided by contractors that may not be addressed by the building codes or manufacturer specifications. Only the most frequent defects in workmanship have been addressed in the Performance Standards. It is not possible to discuss every conceivable situation that can occur in building. Because of the limitless combinations that can be incorporated into a home, infinite conditions can occur. This manual describes the most common and repetitive situations.
