Commission for Minority Affairs

The South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs was created by the Legislature in 1993 to be a single point of contact for information regarding the state's minority populations. The Commission researches the cause and effects of minority socioeconomic deprivation in the state, provides statistical and technical assistance for research, provide statistical analyses for the General Assembly, act as a liaison with the business community to provide programs and opportunities for minorities, and seek funding for the purpose of implementing programs and minorities.
