Office of Economic Opportunity

The Office of Economic Opportunity was created in 1965 to provide technical assistance to communities and coordinate state activities related to the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. The office was under the Budget and Control Board until 1968, when it moved to the Office of the Governor. The agency changed names in 1975 to the Division of Economic Opportunity.

The office now operates under the Office of Executive Policy and Programs in the Department of Administration.
