The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources published a series of ground-water reports of several counties, authored by Roy Newcome, Jr. These reports include information about the aquifers and wells, testing, quality of the water, water levels, and conclusions.

Kershaw County, S.C. has adequate ground water for considerable growth in the public, industrial and irrigation supplies that rely on that resource. Aquifers in the county are of two basic types: paleozoic bedrock in the northwestern quarter and cretaceous sand beds in the Coastal Plain formation. Water quality is usually good.
