Description
After the alarming realization that one in seven children in South Carolina are not ready for first grade, lawmakers responded by creating South Carolina First Steps to School Readiness. First Steps is a comprehensive, results-driven statewide education initiative to help prepare our children to reach first grade healthy and ready to succeed. As this five-year anniversary report illustrates, First Steps has touched the lives of 282,890 children throughout South Carolina in all 46 counties.
