Developmental Disabilities Council
The South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council, administered by the Office of Executive Policy and Programs, was established in 1971 and reauthorized in 2010. The Council, federally funded under the Developmental Disabilities Act, engages in activities that contribute to a coordinated, consumer and family centered and directed, comprehensive system that includes needed community services, individualized supports and other forms of assistance that promote self-determination for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
